about me

about me….about me….about me…. (can you see me drumming my fingers on my chin and wondering what to say about this?)

i am an artist. i think i was born an artist, with ideas coming at me from everywhere…and as a child, i had no idea that you weren’t supposed to actually DO all the creative ideas that came into your mind…when i think back to the the things i built, drew, painted, or made out of jello boxes and tacks and a tiny bit of scotch tape, i am amazed.

i have a need to get to the basic level of everything… a recent example is that in taking a class on how to spin wool. i was initially disappointed that we didn’t actually get to shear the sheep and that we had to use ‘processed’ wool roving… i once tried to make red licorice with my pasta maker (don’t ask.)

i have a wonderfully patient family that doesn’t seem to mind that I am an artist…that i move from one craft to another like summer moves to fall.

My 3 beautiful daughters, all creative in their own ways. They take pictures, draw, dance, paint, create websites…love that! They were all raised on Marley, Fleetwood Mac, and a bit of Cyndy Lauper…and I credit their eclectic music tastes to being raised on the best 🙂

I have an amazing grand daughter who blesses me every second she breathes in my space. She can sing her own rendition of Simmer Down and “the birds song”, so the Marley lives on…

a hippie, that is what my girls call me, which is fine. I don’t mention that i was actually born about 10 years too late to be a hippie…i like the title.
